This City is Magic
This city is magic. The reason that I feel a connection with New York City is because it makes you believe that anything is possible. It is the definition, and, in my opinion, origin of the American Dream. A dream that most people have learned to disregard and believe to be failed. I, on the other hand, know that this dream is still very much alive. But, it is only alive in the people who full-heartedly believe in its prosperity.
I was given the amazing opportunity to have a taste of my own American Dream. Yesterday, I went into NYC for a taping of The Gossip Table. I have to say, I am definitely getting the hang of commuting. I had time to spare once my train arrived at Penn Station, so I decided to go ahead and find the building that hosts VH1. After spotting it, I noticed that there was commotion in the middle of Times Square. When I went to check it out, I was happily surprised to find out that it was Good Morning America! While hanging out by the set, I had a flashback to the Full House days when I saw Laurie Laughlin! She, of course, was accompanied by the anchors of GMA including Robin Roberts, George Stephanopoulos and Amy Robach.
In the VH1 studio, everyone that I met was so kind. Chloe Melas- thank you for an opportunity that I will carry with me throughout my career journey. While they are the stars, they made me feel special. The director even had me my own chair to sit in while watching the taping. The energy was indescribable. Everyone was cheering and clapping as fun music played in the background. People were cracking jokes and having a good time. It was easy to forget that they were at work.
"because I'm doing this for the thrill of it...never not chasing a million things I want."
