Finding Peace in the Midst of Chaos
I am not going to lie, the adjustment process has been challenging. Yesterday, I was in need of a change of surroundings. I decided to brave the horrific traffic of center city to make my way to the Philadelphia Museum of Art (aka: "Rocky") for a weekly yoga session. When I arrived at the museum, I was shocked at how empty the parking lot was. Being a skeptic, I was quick to assume that there was a reason why people were not parking there. In Auburn, if you park without a permit or in a spot without a meter, you are either towed or fined...I would know. But, despite my skepticism, the parking place was valid. It finally occurred to me that people in cities really do take public transportation or walk to their destination. It seems so trivial, but to a southerner, this was a big deal!
The museum was gorgeous! The workers were so kind, too. The class was in the crucifixion wing and right above where I was doing dhyana yoga was a painting of Jesus on the cross. Dhyana means meditation, and I could not think of a more perfect place to reflect on my past week than in a room filled with the life and everlasting spirit of Jesus Christ.

Ann Marie
